In
order to develop a greater openness to God, Methacton Mennonite
Church
offers three opportunities for growth:
|
1. SPIRITUAL FRIENDSHIPS
"Everyone needs a soul friend"
"As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God." The pace of life at the dawn of a new century is creating in many people a longing for God, a place to explore the spiritual dimension of life, and the need for someone who will listen. If you desire such things, you may wish to consider spiritual direction
|
|
2. SPIRITUAL
DIRECTION
A monthly hour-long conversation between two adults, one of whom is trained and certified to assist the other to grow in awareness of God in everyday life. Through Pastor Dawn's new business, Methacton Mennonite Church is now offering spiritual direction and retreats. Dawn has a Certificate of Spiritual Direction from Newmann College (1994) and from the Kairos School of Spiritual Formation (2003). She has been offering spiritual direction under supervision since 1993. For information call 610-584-4080 or see "Contact Us" on this web site.
|
3. SILENT RETREATS
Led by Pastor Dawn Nelson, these retreats offer renewal, recollection and refreshment for busy Christians and seekers, because Jesus said to his disciples after their first mission, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile.” See Calendar for up coming dates. |
WEEKLY PRAYER MEETINGS
Thursday mornings - 7a.m. at home of church member. Use lectio divina to begin a time of intercessory prayer for the congregation. All are welcome. Email us by using the "Contact Us" button to obtain information about the host location.
