PRESCHOOL

The Methacton Mennonite Preschool provides classes for children from age 2 1⁄2 through 4 years old. The goal of the school is to provide children with a loving, Christ-centered environment and to stimulate their natural desire to learn.

Academic readiness skills are developed through meaningful and fun activities designed to foster the children’s natural curiosity, while developing language skills and number concepts. In addition, through Bible stories, songs, and plays, the children learn of Jesus and His compassion for each child.

Values such as: cooperation, kindness, sharing, and sensitivity to others are woven into daily activities. Attendance options include 2, 3, and 4-day programs as well as extended hour “Play Days.”

For more information contact the preschool director, 610-584-3329.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

10:45 Sunday Morning. All are welcome to join these lively 45 minute discussion and study groups following our morning worship service. Fall 2009 - Adult Bible Study - "Covenant Communities" - focusing on God"s covenant as manifested in communities. The Lessons consider the people God chose as covenant leaders - Joshua, Gideon, Ezra and Nehemiah in the OT; the invitations God offers in the Gospel of Mark to community, people's responses to the invitations, and the nature of God's new covenant community described in 1 & 2 Peter. Adult Spiritual Formation class - "Jesus our Spiritual Director" - taught by Pastor Dawn will involve faith-sharing and personal reflection on questions between sessions. Through Gospel stories we will encounter Jesus as a personal spiritual guide and also learn how to encourage and listen to others. "Jesus Our Spiritual Director' by Wendy Miller will be the text which is avalible at Amazon.

YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

The focus of the youth class is to set our sights on what it means to be in a relationship with God. The center of this relationship is Jesus Christ. From the Tent of Meeting to the Gather Round curricula, the goal is to bring relevance to who God is and what God wants from us. Fall 2009 - Youth class - "Exile & Restoration in the Old Testament" with themes like "God's people go through hard times."

PRE-SCHOOL & ELEMENTARY SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Starting at the pre-school level, our children’s classes provide Bible stories and related material appropriate for each age group. The curriculum material is developed and taught by experienced and qualified teachers. Simple service projects are often part of the lesson, thus teaching real life application in a way that is fun and interesting to the students. Fall 2009 - Pre-School class - "Old Testament Stories", Elementary class - "Exile and Restoration in the Old Testament"
